Keys keys keys are everywhere!

keysKeys are everywhere. They are found in soda machines, payphones, laundry mats, bike locks to the high school locker room. If you are like me then you have been fascinated by keys since childhood. I mean, with so many different shapes, cuts, sizes and kinds, keys are fascinating because this small object offers so much in security. Another one of my favorite kinds of keys is the paracentric key. Paracentric keys look really amazing because they have lots of different unique features not seen in other locks. For their looks and unique nature the paracentric key is one of my favorites.

  • Double sided key

The double sided key looks a lot like a normal house key that we are all familiar with, but like the name suggests the double-sided key has to sets of teeth on each side. Many automotive manufactures use the double sided key for their high security.

  • Internal cut key

Internal cut keys are commonly found on cars and trucks. Many European models use the internal cut key. Instead of teeth the internal cut key uses a groove that is cut inside the key where the teeth normally would be.

  • Dimple key

Dimple keys are another one of my favorite types of keys because they look really different. The dimple cut key is very similar to that of the internal cut key, except dimple keys use dots or dimples to engage the pins of the lock. Another fascinating key.

The abloy key is another wonderful advancement in keys. With high security, intricate features and unique look, the abloy key is another one of my favorite kinds of keys to make it to the top 10 list here.

  • Zeiss key

The zeiss key is another one of my favorite kinds of keys. The zeiss key is like a cross between a tubular key and a regular house key. Another wonderful kind of key to enjoy and appreciate.

  • Key card

We have all seen the key card used on hotel rooms, but did you know that the key card is becoming more common on residential properties? The key card is secure and best of all it can be reprogrammed for added security.

  • Skeleton key

Last but definitely my favorite type of key is the skeleton key. This kind of key is not common in the modern marketplace but key collectors like myself appreciate the skeleton key more than any other type of key.
